(And this is one for Hannah)

Banana and Cherry (Puree)
6 sweet cherries, halved and pitted
1 tablespoon water
1 banana
1 tablespoon baby rice cereal

Put the cherries into a small pan together with the water and simmer for 2 minutes. Mash the banana, add to the cooked cherries, and simmer for just under a minute. Puree using a handheld blender and sitr in the baby rice.

And here is a fun food fact: "Cherries stimulate the immune system and help to prevent infection. They are also good for a child suffering from constipation."

I got this recipe in a book called "Top 100 Baby Purees". Hee hee!Tenessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03515197061666216584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705571842384125620.post-61593874902384321392009-02-18T21:53:00.000-06:002009-02-18T21:53:00.000-06:00Banana Bread Sticks--1/4 cup brown sugar1/2 cup ve...Banana Bread Sticks--
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 cup banana, mashed
1 3/4 cup flour (white, whole wheat or a combo)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Combine ingredients and stir only until smooth. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for about 1 hour, or until firmly set. Cool, remove from pan, and cut into sticks. Spread sticks out on a baking sheet and bake at 150 for 1 hour (or longer) until the sticks are hard and crunchy. Store in tightly covered container.

I got this recipe from a book called "Feed Me, I'm Yours" (a book about homemade baby food and finger foods).

It's worth a try!Tenessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03515197061666216584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705571842384125620.post-22959476881220835452009-02-18T19:59:00.000-06:002009-02-18T19:59:00.000-06:00Yes, Maria. Imagine (if you paradise dwellers can) my delight at finding 20 for 500 yen!Suziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00966167941854407869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705571842384125620.post-42954916482574982842009-02-18T19:47:00.000-06:002009-02-18T19:47:00.000-06:00I didn't know Japan was banana void. Or, you could consult this online guide to bananas! http://www.banana.com/

When I was a kid, we used to mash bananas up in their peel, cut it open length-wise on one side, cram in mini marshmallows and chocolate chips, close the peel back around it, put it in foil and bake it. So healthy, right?Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02348561778055174247noreply@blogger.com
